Mehn!! Bohol is the coolest place I've ever been to. I wanna go back!!!
Our flight was around 6 am so we have to be in the airport early.. It was my first time to board a plane. I just have to take the window seat. I can feel my ear bursting but I don't care. My mind was wandering.. I imagine myself jumping off the plane and landing on a puffy cloud.. hahaha.. I felt like a kid.
We arrived at bohol and met Kuya Tata. He's one of the locals who wait for tourists at the airport to tour them around for a fee of course. But he was nice. We first went to see the blood compact site. We embarassed ourselves by trying to identify who is Magellan. Tata answered us "Si Datu Sikatuna yan at si Legazpi... si Magellan asa Cebu". Hahahah... Just shows how much I learned at history class. We then went straight to see the famous chocolate hills. It was a beautiful sight. We climbed more than 200 steps just to see the view. Next stop was the butterfly farm whose name I forgot. The people there were really friendly. They explained to us how butterflies mate, live and grow. I understood more from them than my science teachers. Hehehehe.. We then went on our way, took some pictures of the man-made forest that according to Kuya Tata was made during the 1950's. We also went to see this hanging bridge. It was scary to cross it. But it seemed stronger than the ones I see on TV. We took a bamboo raft to get back to the other side.
Next stop? Lunch at the Loboc River. You pay 260 bucks for a buffet lunch while you cruise the river. We had to wait for almost an hour for a floating resto. Because we were so hungry, we were already finished with our lunch before the.. err.. boat left the dock. Mehn, the river was amazing. It made up for the waiting, and not so good food. I had to stop myself jumping in the water. It was so relaxing that I wanted to sleep on the floor. I have to take the Loboc River Cruise when we get back to Bohol.
I also got to see tarsiers!!! They're so cute I want to bring them home. Ehehehhe.. The "ale" that take cares of the tarsiers is kinda rude so we weren't really that enthusiastic staying there.
We stayed at Dumaluan Beach Resort. The room was ok, the water from the shower is less salty than Alona's Beach Resort (well, that's what Lowy said...). The water was clear and the beach was clean.. except for some seaweed that you wouldn't mind. I was so tired that after dinner, I took a shower and hit the bed.
Next morning, we went Dolphin watching (where I saw dolphins from a gazillion meters away, but I don't care at that time.. at least I saw some) then we went snorkeling at Balicasag Island. It was also my first time and I was so amazed. The corals were just right in front of me, especially the colorful, salt-watered fishes. I never thought that fishes are bread addicts.. hahaha.. I was scared that they would bit my fingers off. After snorkeling, we went to Virgin Island where we could see the sand bar. It was still low tide so the sand bar was longer than usual. We sun bathed a while then played frisbee and just when it was about to rain, we headed of back to the resort.
After lunch (yes, there's more).. the land tour continues. We went to the Hinagdanan cave. I was scared at first because it was dark. The water was tempting, but I imagined the lochness monster coming out from it. After a few pictures, I knew I just had to dive in. Well, not really dived but you know what I mean. Aha! I conquered my fear. *lol*. From the cave, we went to Mag-aso falls. The one that you see on WOW Magic Sing =). It was a beauty. I slipped on one of the rocks, but I'm still alive.. ehehhehe. Too bad I left my phone on the car so I have no pictures of it right now.
For all those who are going to Bohol. You have to have dinner at the Bohol Bee Farm. I swear! It's one of my fondest memories. The food is great and so are the staff. The ambiance is wonderful! I just have to go back. When? I do not know. Heheheh..
We headed back to the resort, cleaned ourselves up, and the inuman session (which is always on the itenerary). A few hours later it was good night for me.
Too bad we have to leave the next day. I woke up late, meaning it lessened my final sun bathing time. We had breakfast, packed our bags and left the resort. The flight was delayed, but I really don't care because part of me does not want to leave bohol yet.
Now I really want to travel more.
A few extras: *Bohol was so clean that I was hesitant to smoke cigs (but still did) **One thing I disliked about Bohol is some of the people are not that friendly. I don't know if it's because we're not foreigners or they're just not really friendly. ***Tortillos at the resort costs 45 bucks, and taquitos costs 65. You have to pay for drinking water and styro's (for take out) are not free and is taxable. Unlike in the Bee Farm where there are water dispensers ****Thank God for Cebu Pacific.
